Most of the people I encounter view summer as a chance to escape the city. I hear talk of plans to hit the coast, amusement parks, and to go off camping. Unfortunately for me, the summer months at my job are mostly unavailable for vacation. If I do manage to get a long weekend in the summer, my guy is stuck working. There is only so much sitting in the sun on the deck I want to do alone...
Since I plan to fill my summer with little day excursions, I decided to share my experiences with you! There are several places in my immediate area I've always wanted to visit but haven't had the chance. While I take my tours of the Heidelberg Project, Hamtramck Disneyland, and that interesting sculpture park I drive past on the Lodge while on my way to work, I'll make sure to snap a few pictures and share a thought or two about my experiences! I thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog. I love that you took so many pictures. I've lived in Michigan all of my life and I've never heard of some of the places you visited. Your blog inspired me to plan more local trips to places in Michigan I've never been before.
